What to do in case of an “invalid key” error message?
Many customers who buy a Windows 10 key from us contact us with the message that the key is invalid. In 99.9% of cases, however, the reason is not the key, but something else that needs to be taken into account:
Windows 10 keys cannot be used to upgrade or downgrade!
This is because the version of the key is stored in the BIOS and is only written to when the system is rebooted. For example, upgrading from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro does not work – but upgrading from Home to Home or Pro to Pro does. Switching from older Windows versions to newer ones, such as from Windows 7 to Windows 10, also works.
How can I switch from Windows Home to Windows Pro?
1. Disconnect from the internet.
